There is a point where an erosion control blanket and some seed are not going to cut it. When flow velocities get high enough — a steep channel, a low water crossing, a spillway, the outfall of a big storm system — the channel needs armor that will physically stay put. That is hard armoring, and it is a scope Armor Site Services self-performs.
We have been installing this work since 2020 across Texas and Oklahoma, including on data centers, roadway and infrastructure jobs, and low water crossings.
An ACB mat is only as good as what is underneath it. Subgrade has to be brought to tolerance — high spots mean the blocks do not seat, low spots mean voids that wash out from below. Geotextile has to be lapped correctly and anchored. Terminations and toe-downs have to be keyed in, because that is where a channel lining fails first. We grade the subgrade ourselves, which means the surface the blocks land on is one we control instead of one we inherit.
